1) Water leaking from broken hatch rubber boots. While this only applies to vehicles with a hatch/liftgate, many inexperienced technicians will pry the rubber boot, breaking off the single locking tab. Here at Safe Drive Solutions we use flexible wire-pulling tools and eliminate the need to even open these.

2) Another common problem is the very difficult A-pillar that houses the side curtain airbag. Most manufacturers make it easy to remove, but Volkwagen utilizes a very tight locking clip. With no knowledge or experience in removing one, running wires safely behind the airbag can be very challenging. We properly open the panel and ensure wires are not in the way of the airbag system.

Here is the A-pillar from a Tiguan. If you have not opened one before, it’s nearly impossible to see where the metal retainers are located.
