Dash Cam Install Mercedes C-Class AMG

This Mercedes Benz AMG dash cam install was fun. Our client from Vancouver wanted video protection while driving and parked. I could say it was a nice-looking car but I would be lying. Because it was a wagon. In the UK they call these types of cars "an estate". Who doesn't love a classic Top Gear episode?

Performance

This wagon packs some real performance. The engine is a 3.0 litre V6 biturbo with 385 horsepower and 384 lb-ft of torque. It comes stock with 18-inch AMG twin 5-spoke rims. Finally, the acceleration of this vehicle is 0-100 km/hr in 4.8 seconds.

Thinkware F200 Pro Dash Cam

One of our top recommended cameras is the F200 Pro. With this dash cam you get 1080P from the front and rear camera. It also has feature's like night vision, parking mode, impact detection, and the ability to download videos directly to your phone via an app. Lastly, add a GPS antenna to this unit and gain red light and speed camera notifications. This makes for a great dash cam install in this Mercedes.

The Install

When looking to install your dash cam we recommend hiring a pro. We use a lot of specialty tools. You will not find these at the corner store. For instance, running wires through the factory grommet can be done in numerous ways but having the right tool is key. It will reduce stress and speed up efficiency.

Another option we recommended to our client was to use an OBDII connection cable. This allows for us to be less intrusive. The adaptor simply plugs into your OBDII connector giving the dash camera power. What does this mean to you? It means we are not hardwiring in the dash cam to your vehicle. No wiring is touched. For some clients it gives peace of mind when going to the car dealer for service. It can simply be unplugged. Giving little to no doubt from the service department.
